About Me
After many years attending Methodist Churches around the Country and working in Theatre and Television costume departments, I couldn't see how my working life and my church life could join together they seemed to be on parallel lines.
Then I attended a Womens' Network Conference with a theme of God's Promise,The Rainbow. Every keynote lecture was given on a stage on which there was also a huge display incorporating each individual colour of the rainbow using fabrics, ribbons, artefacts etc. I was blown away by the creativity, every time I entered the hall there was a different display and sitting looking at this hard work I thought 'I can do that' then it hit me 'Yes I can do that!'
I was off and running. Already having lots of fabric helped and I have gradually collected posters, cards, powerpoints, music, artefacts, sculptures, garden equipment, shells, you name it I have a huge collection of what my husband kindly refers to as my 'tut collection' I am equipped to do a display on any theme at any time.
Eleven years later I lead workshops on how to create worship displays; Along with Heather and other friends I have 'decorated', a few buildings including Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, Guildford Cathedral and Lincoln Cathedral - not the smallest of places to leave ones mark on worshipfully.
The most frequent question I hear is 'yes but where do you get the ideas from in the first place?' Well maybe this website will go some way to help answer that question eventually.
Meditation Photo 1 - Pilgrimage
The image above is a mixture of fabric, photos of footprints on the sand,
shells, a ceramic boat - this was created to illustrate pilgrimage,
but could also be used for 'calling the disciples', or 'harvest of the sea'.

Meditation Photo 2 - prayer
Use fabrics that tone but have different
textures, allow them to fall in soft fold
rather than flat, to allow the eye to travel
where you want it to.
Add barbed wire to a chunky candle.
This can be used for Easter as a crown of
thorns, and/or link to prayers for persecuted people.
Soapstone figures are really useful as they
have no facial features are neither male or
female and gather their persona from the
articles you place them near.
